Poland–Germany trade reached a record €90bn in the first half of 2025, up 5.4% year-on-year. Monetary Policy Council cuts NBP rates by 0.25 pp
On 2–3 September 2025, the Monetary Policy Council lowered NBP interest rates by 0.25 pp, bringing the reference rate to 4.75%. The move follows a slowdown in inflation (2.8% in August vs. 3.1% in July) and continued GDP growth of 3.4% in Q2, mainly driven by rising consumption.

E-commerce under UOKiK scrutiny: endless promos banned
UOKiK is investigating whether online retailers properly display the 30-day lowest price and avoid misleading tactics such as never-ending discounts or reset timers. Cases are underway against Zalando, Media Markt, Sephora, Glovo, Shell Polska, and AzaGroup, with more than 70 warnings issued. Sellers are urged to review their pricing policies to avoid penalties and reputational risks.

Polish anti-drone tech rising on NATO’s eastern frontier
Gdynia-based APS is a leader in AI-powered anti-drone systems already deployed by NATO allies, airports, and global security services. Strategic partnerships with Polish Defence Holding and Kongsberg aim to strengthen NATO’s eastern flank. With the global anti-drone market forecast to surpass USD 8bn by 2030, Poland is emerging as a hub for dual-use defence technologies and international investment.

Key changes in employing foreign workers
From June 1, 2025, employers must inform foreign workers in writing about their right to join trade unions. Georgia will be removed from the simplified hiring list, and from December 1, 2025, new MRPiPS rules will narrow work permit exemptions, limit graduate privileges, and introduce transition rules valid until May 2026.
